The colors of the sky – always a treat

Living here in the high desert where it snows (usually, but not the past weeks, sorry east coasters!) has been a big learning curve for me.  Previously, all the things I knew about winter was have to good mud boots and rain gear.  This past winter so far, we have had tons of rain and not much snow.  The high again by the weekend is supposed to be in the 50’s!  What is up with THAT?  I feel like the whole month of January has been a gift for me.  Life in the country caring for livestock is very difficult.  Degree of difficulty decided by Mother Nature.  I appreciated the break.

Today the groundhog decided we will have an early spring.  As I type, looking out the window to the snow covered mountain, I could like an early spring.  I know we will pay for it in dry grasses and fire danger later in the year, but for now, I am not complaining.

Enjoy your day, stay warm and hug those  you love.  Never miss a chance to tell someone that you care!
